The Color Run Is Back In Bangkok This October

The so-called “happiest 5k on the planet” was an absolutely roaring success when it made its way to Bangkok last year — you’ll be pleased to hear that it’s coming back in 2016, and it’s bigger and better than ever.

2016 marks the 5-year anniversary of the Color Run, which was founded in the US in March 2011.

To celebrate, the organisers are launching the Tropicolor World Tour 2016, sailing through Bangkok on the 15th and 16th October this year. The race will be held at the Airport Rail Link, Makkasan station.

Although technically a 5k race, the Color Run isn’t your everyday running event. As the organisers claim, this is

Less about your 10-minute mile and more about having the time of your life

The race is untimed with no official winners and abides by just two rules:

  • Start the race wearing white
  • Finish plastered in color

See, the Color Run is a paint race where colored paint powder — made of food-grade corn starch — rains down on participants during the race.

During this special Tropicolor World Tour 2016, there’ll be a few added extras, including a Tropicolor Zone with even more colors and scents, as well as palm trees and arches, and Rainbow Beach — an interactive island with music, dancing and massive color throws.
