Madonna has been rocking out at Impact Arena for her Rebel Heart Tour for the past two nights, showing us there’s still life in the old dog yet.
By all accounts, she put on a hell of a show entertaining the Bangkok masses and may even have justified the astronomical ticket prices for the event.
The Rebel Heart Tour is the tenth global tour by the undisputed queen of pop, beginning in Canada before making its way through North America and Europe before touching down in Asia. Her first Asian show was in Taipei and the next stop after Bangkok is Tokyo, then Hong Kong, Macau, Manila and Singapore.
The tour ends in Sydney on 20 March.
But back to Bangkok…
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Madonna concert without the usual drama.
Firstly, there was the inevitable wardrobe malfunction:
While not quite the same utter capitulation she suffered at the Brit Awards in 2015, it’s still a little awkward to get entangled in your veil/cape when in the throes of Material Girl.
And then, of course, came the proposal to a ladyboy, supposedly called Anthony and wearing a rather fabulous hat:
Madge curiously labels herself as “sort of a ladyboy, in a way… in a deep, philosophical way.”
She doesn’t dwell too much on ladyboy philosophy but resolves to figure out just how the marriage to Anthony might work.
