Caffe What If

Tucked away down Soi 31 in the Green Connect Building is Caffe What If.

Part cafe, part coffee shop, part interior design store, this cosy find is the perfect stop for lunch or even an extended afternoon of coffee-sipping and snacking with a laptop in tow.

With its relaxed, quiet atmosphere and seating selection – either small, private table or a spot at the large and expansive desk – it’s a great spot to get your head down and get some work done.

The coffee here is excellent – 100% Arabica blend, full of flavour and deliciously creamy.

This lunchtime, I opted for a matcha green tea latte instead of my usual Cappuccino and was not disappointed. Starbucks this ain’t – presentation is cute, clean and fits well into the artsy What If brand and vibe.

The food menu is pleasingly brief – no last minute menu panics here – and has a European focus with sandwiches, pasta dishes, stews and sharing starters.

After an internal tussle between stews and pasta, I settled on the Tomato and Pork Sausage Fettucine.

Hello! This had flavour, baby.

The creamy tomato and rich flavour of the sausage were pulled together with zinging chilli giving the dish a well-rounded kick and a pleasingly filling outcome.

I was pretty sated at this point but decided it wouldn’t be a true review without a pudding to round off events.

There was no internal struggle here. The Red Velvet Chocolate Brownie had been screaming my name since I walked in the door.

With a delightfully moist chocolate red sponge and a cheesecake topping, this was a winner.
