Man Dies After Being Hit By Moving Bus During Sukhumvit Rush Hour

A man died after reportedly jumping in front of a moving bus in the Bang Na neighbourhood of Sukhumvit Road this morning, reports Khaosod English.

The 29-year old, identified as Sarawut Chancaeng, was hit by the 511 service from Samut Prakarn to Bangkok during the morning rush hour.

Police lieutenant Worawit Meekham said the man was thought by locals to be mentally ill and was often seen on the roads in the neighbourhood.

Narong Tonthongkham, the bus driver, was charged with reckless driving resulting in death. He said the bus was decelerating as the deceased suddenly hit the left front wheel.

Police will be reviewing CCTV footage and conducting interviews accordingly.
