A quieter street than its neighbours, Sukhumvit Soi 5 is home to a few hotels, as well as the famous Gulliver’s Tavern.
For those who want to be in the thick of the Sukhumvit nightlife scene with somewhere relatively quiet to lay their heads after a night on the Soi 4 tiles, a hotel down Soi 5 might just be one of the best places to do that.
Soi 5 is linked to Soi 7 by a connecting street at the end of the road, on which used to be located the iconic Checkinn99 cabaret bar. This has now relocated to Sukhumvit Soi 24.
Let’s take a look at some of the highlights…
Gulliver’s is something of a Thailand institution — a restaurant cum pub cum hotel found somewhere in the middle of Sukhumvit Soi 5. The chain also has branches in Pattaya and Khao San Road.
They have a large menu of Western and Thai dishes, big screens, pool table, foosball and arcade games.
A 4* international standard hotel on Soi 5 with a large swimming pool and a couple of onsite restaurants.
The Amari is popular with both leisure and business travelers thank to its wide range of facilities: free WiFi, a business centre, 24-hour room service and meeting facilities.
A large contemporary hotel with 152 guest rooms, as well as suites and a lounge.
There’s also a gym, large swimming pool, massage services and even Thai cookery classes.
