In the heart of Thonglor, Sukhumvit Soi 51 is a short soi that eventually bends around to meet its longer neighbour, Soi 49.
Despite its comparatively short length, there are a handful of spots of interest along here, including a number of condo and apartment buildings and the popular Wells International School and Kindergarten.
Let’s have a look at the highlights.
Studio Lam is a Bangkok institution on Sukhumvit Soi 51 that’s known for its incredible music, fun ambience and well-priced drinks.
DJ sets and live music nights are a regular occurrence, but Studio Lam is best known for its patronage of traditional Thai music, including Isaan and Molam. These traditions are innovatively infused with more modern sounds to bring together a diverse and interested audience.
The best known live band that frequent Studio Lam is probably The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band.
Sukhumvit Veterinarians provide comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care services for cats, dogs and all other companion animals, including vaccinations, microchipping, physical examinations and all manner of surgery. They also offer grooming, boarding and behavioural training services.
WTF is a bar cum cafe cum art gallery on Soi 51 that boasts a regular roster of events and a thriving customer clientele. You’ve got to check out their brilliant cocktails.
They also regularly host live music and DJ sets.
This a salon offering hair, nails and makeup services on the corner of Soi 51 and Sukhumvit. They also offer at home, on location and bridal services.
Brow shaping and brow and lash tints are also available.
Technically on 49 Soi 2 (although much closer to Sukhumvit Soi 51), Siam Grass is an Asian fusion restaurant focusing on Japanese, Thai and Italian cuisines, spearheaded by a Japanese chef.
Den is another Japanese restaurant on Soi 51, that also has use of a few private rooms if you want a more intimate dining experience. They have both a Japanese and Western menu, with highlights including sashimi and iron plate Wagyu beef cuts.
