Soi 11 has hit the sweet spot.
It’s full of character and colour with a peppering of Nana’s sleaze and a sprinkle of Phrom Phong’s glitter.
If you want nightlife on Sukhumvit, Soi 11 is a good place to start. Good restaurants are plentiful while a whole spectrum of bars – from rooftop to street side – line the soi. There’s a couple of clubs in town, too.

Food
Good food is easy to come by all over Bangkok but there’s definitely a concentration of great restaurants on Soi 11
Adjoining subsoi 11/1 is a cosy home to a number of Indian joints such as the famous Mrs Balbir’s, Dosa King, and Khana Khazana while Shalimar Sharma and Moghul Room can be found round the side of Cheap Charlie’s. Within the Ambassador hotel is Mezbaan, serving up Bangladeshi delights, while Charcoal in the Fraser Suites is taking over the Indian Kebab scene.
Thai food comes by way of the ever popular Chilli Culture towards the end of the soi, Maxim’s on 11/1, Suk 11, 11 Gallery, Marshmallow and Rosabieng.
Fancy some European fare? You’ll find it on Soi 11 in spades. For the Italians, we’ve got Pomodoro, La Piola, Venezia and Zanzibar and if you fancy some Irish grub, why not make it down to the famous Mulligan’s?
French food is where it’s at in Chez Papé and trendy Oskar bistro while authentic German fare is served up at the Old German Beerhouse. You’ll find Spanish at the Tapas Cafe and the rest of your European desires at Cellar 11.
Mexican is well served on Soi 11 with the brilliant Coyote and longstanding Charley Brown’s Mexican Cantina.
You can find Japanese fare at Baan Nakatani, Tonkatsu Katsuichi and Uzuki in the Grand President Hotel. Korean makes its name at Koreana.
You’ll be hard pressed to find a better burger anywhere than Firehouse while El Gaucho will take care of all your steak needs. Fancing some New Zealand cuisine? Snapper New Zealand will sort you out.
Of course, plenty of the bars serve up food too – if you fancy something extra special, why not head to Above Eleven at the Fraser Suites for some Peruvian delights?
Drinking
Soi 11 is the ultimate Sukhumvit watering hole with bars aplenty.
Aside from cocktails on the street, visitors to Soi 11 will be missing out without a trip to the matchless Cheap Charlie’s.
There are lots of dinky cocktail bars along the soi which will draw you in with their happy hour deals and colourful headboards – Wolff’s Jazz Bar, Apoteka, Marshmallow, Stash and The Alchemist to name but a few.
Wine bars come in the form of Zak’s, Ava and Cellar 11 while you can tuck in to your favourite brews at the appropriately named, Brew.
If you’re looking for something a little more low-key, sports bars like the Australian and Hillary 3 are loud and welcoming.
Luxury comes in the form of rooftop bars like the much loved Above Eleven, on the 33rd floor of Fraser Suites, and Nest, above Le Fenix Hotel or even the ground floor level W XYZ in Aloft.
If you’d prefer to hit the clubs, you can choose between Levels and Climax or after-hours place, Wax.
Sleeping
The hotels are out in force along Soi 11
Live in the lap of luxury in the Fraser Suites and the President Solitaire Hotel and Spa or plump for a reliable stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Ambassador Hotel or Grand President.
There’s also Aloft Bangkok for the young and trendy and the Seasons Boutique if you’d prefer a cosier stay.
Apartment style stays come in the form of Chaidee Mansion and popular chain Citadines while Studio Nana by iCheck Inn has got low budget travellers covered.
Other hotels on the soi include the Grand Business Inn, Swiss Park Hotel, Salil Hotel, Grand Swiss and the new Citrus Sukhumvit 11.

What else?
As is common in the Nana neighbourhood, there are plenty of step in-step out massage places on Soi 11 or you could opt for a more luxurious experience at the Ananda Spa in the President Solitaire hotel.
Tailors line the soi too while quick supermarket style shopping is a breeze at Villa Market and the multiple 7 Elevens.
The 11 Dental Clinic can also be found on this soi, and remember to pay a visit to the Sukhumvit 11 Clinic if you need a sexual health check-up.
We mentioned Mrs Balbir’s Indian restaurant earlier – she also hosts a mean cookery school course too so make sure to look her up if you want to whip up roti like a pro!
