On the other side of the Exchange Tower, Sukhumvit Soi 18 marks the point where the sois of Asok start to merge into the Phrom Phong neighbourhood.
Right in the thick of it, Soi 18 eventually lengthens down to meet up with Soi 20, and is dotted with hotels and a few restaurants.
On the corner with Sukhumvit can always be found a reliable stream of motorbike taxi drivers and probably a street food stall or two as well.
