A short soi but with plenty of character, Sukhumvit Soi 45 marks the true start of the Thonglor neighbourhood.
As well as a dose of charm, it’s home to one of the best restaurants in the area, a quirky nightlife venue, as well as a hotel and other such niceties.

Quince is one of the highlights of Sukhumvit Soi 45 and, to be honest, Thonglor in general. Their focus is on simple food, great matched wines, and a focus on seasonal ingredients.
They describe themselves as a ‘market kitchen’, and are slanted towards the cuisine of the Mediterranean: French, Greek, Italian, Lebanese, Moroccan and Egyptian. They have both a day menu and a lazy weekends brunch menu.

Sing Sing is a fabulous nightclub and bar sporting some of the best interior design in the city. 1930s Shanghai is where inspiration was drawn by local designer Ashley Sutton, while house DJs, a cosy dance floor and exuberantly dressed staff make this one of the quirkiest and most fun spots in Bangkok’s nightlife.

Cabochon is a hotel in the Walpole building on Soi 45, home to just 4 suites and 4 studios. Again, 1920s Shanghai is the design inspiration here, filled with glamour and modern aesthetics. Belgian linen bed sheets, anyone?
They’re also home to the Joy Luck Club and the Thai Lao Yeh restaurant — the latter is equipped with 2 VIP rooms. They’ve also got a rooftop pool.

Casa Pagoda is a furniture and lifestyle store on the corner of Sukhumvit Soi 45 and the main road. They sell seatings, case goods, accessories, lighting, wall decor and unique items, like vintage golf clubs, a navigator’s terrestrial globe and Papua New Guinea money sticks.
