Right next to Nana BTS station is Sukhumvit Soi 6, a reasonably short street that connects to Soi 4 via the Chai Saman Alley at its end.
It’s very quiet on Soi 6 — at least in comparison to its rowdier Soi 4 and Soi 8 neighbours — and this is a good place to escape to and find a hotel if you want a good night’s sleep.
Between Soi 4 and Soi 6 is the Two Pacific Place building, which is home to a host of offices, a private members’ club, and even the Embassy of Sweden. There’s always plenty of office workers milling around here during the week.
Let’s have a look at some more of the soi’s highlights…
Grand Sukhumvit Hotel
Hotel
Managed by Accor, the Grand Sukhumvit is an international standard hotel tucked towards the end of Sukhumvit Soi 6. There are almost 400 guest rooms on offer (including 108 smoking rooms) available in 7 different size configurations, all the way up to a 3-bedroom apartment.
Facilities include a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, gym, sauna and 24 hour room service.
Hangout Pub
Bar
Soi 6 is home to a couple of bars including the Cabin and the Hangout Pub. This is a fun and friendly sports bar that attracts a mix of Thais and Westerners on holiday.
Jai Saman Church
Church
Jai Saman is a gospel church of the Pentecostal denomination, and is one of Bangkok’s more thriving Christian communities. There are two services on Sunday morning, one starting at 08.30 and the other at 10.30.
We can’t find whether there are any services offered in English or geared towards international worshippers, but the church’s website and Facebook page are almost entirely in Thai so we would suspect not.
S6 Sukhumvit Hotel
Hotel
An affordable and adequate hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 6, with rooms starting from 1,280 baht a night. They accept walk-ins and are open 24 hours a day.
It’s biggest pull is really its location so close to Nana BTS station.
Dynasty Grande
Hotel
Found on the alley between Sois 4 and 6, the Dynasty Grande is composed of twin 7-storey buildings that are joined together by a shared saltwater swimming pool.
Rooms vary between ‘deluxe’ and a 50 square metre one bedroom suite. There’s also the Bloom Cafe on site offering all-day dining, a sun terrace, fitness centre, spa and beauty salon.
